On April 8, 2026, the organizers of the festival “Prosta Droga do Boga - Be Like St. Maximilian”, Jerzy Szkamruk and Piotr Pietrus, met with the Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, during an audience at the Vatican. During their several‑minute conversation, the Pope blessed the festival initiative and its participants, and also signed the poster promoting the event.
The meeting had an exceptional and symbolic character, serving as an important spiritual encouragement for the entire undertaking, which combines prayer, art, and tangible support for the production of the film “The Dream of Saint Maximilian”, dedicated to St. Maximilian Kolbe.
During the conversation with the Holy Father, the possibility of his remote participation in the festival was also raised. It is highly likely that on August 15 the Pope will connect with the event’s participants and impart his blessing - an unprecedented moment in the festival’s history.
The festival “Prosta Droga do Boga - Be Like St. Maximilian” will take place on August 15, on the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, combining spiritual and artistic dimensions while engaging participants in supporting the film’s production.
